What is a newborn photoshoot?

Becoming a parent is a magical experience, but those precious moments can fly by so fast. A newborn photoshoot is a lovely opportunity to capture some precious moments of your new baby during the first few weeks of their life.

I specialise in beautiful rustic newborn photography combined with modern parent/baby shots that are striking yet tender. Pictures are usually a mixture of 'Au Naturel' and wrapped (and don't forget the cute little hats!)

When can they be done?

The best time for a newborn shoot is within the first two weeks – and best after the clip has fallen off. The longer it is left, the more aware your baby becomes and the less likely it will be to get certain poses.

How does it work?

First, we can have a chat and discuss your requirements and then set aside a rough time slot based on your due date. It's OK if you are a little early or late, we can move the date around to suit.

The photoshoot will last about 2 hours and take place in my little Runcorn based studio. The types of pictures we can get depends entirely on your little one – but rest assured I am very patient!

I will send a link to the proof images so that you can view them and choose which ones you would like as digital files – once you have picked I will edit the images fully and you will receive a digital gallery where you can download the images or purchase prints.

That's all there is to it – nice and simple!

Can I bring a sibling?

The photoshoot requires a lot of patience and takes place in a very warm studio (for the newborn's comfort). This is not an ideal environment for a young brother or sister – so for this reason I don't do sibling shoots at the same time as a newborn shoot. A specific mini-shoot can be added and scheduled for a different time, where we can make it a more suitable environment for the sibling. The mini-shoot costs just £25 and lasts about 30 minutes.

Are you DBS checked?

While being DBS checked isn't a legal requirement for a photographer, I have a DBS certificate for full peace of mind.

How much will it cost?

The total cost will depend on the digital files and prints you want – but the cost of the session itself is just £65, which is payable up-front to secure the date in the studio.

"Bump to Baby" Package

If you would like to document the whole journey with a maternity photoshoot and a newborn photoshoot, then you can buy both in a package for £200 (instead of £235). This includes all of the pictures from the maternity shoot and 1 digital file from the newborn shoot (extra newborn pictures can be purchased separately)
